RE: Six Weeks Into Poverty

Great post, @ronthroop - and thank you for suggesting me to read it, @vincentnijman! Yes, I agree with you about voluntary 'poverty', though I have made choices in my life Living In Gift which have made every step out of the system a step into profound wealth of Being - as well as a panoramically easier lifework balance, through foraging, getting wild nutriment and materials, having all my time my own, and so on... I don't live in a culture where one is more expected to be a hungry consumer like in America, but nevertheless, am continually astonished at how easy it is to live with less and less fiat currency. My only stable income is around 130 Euros per month, though I am gifted a great deal more privately, in kind, and through barter and mutually-beneficial gifting and giving-taking within my community. I have never looked back, and even thinking about paying taxes (all tax is theft!) seems like such a quaint neurosis indeed, now I know my Natural Law and my Inalienable Right.

All power to you, dear Ron! And your paintings are very beautiful (I was a painter artist for 35 years, successful but outside of the system, and gave up painting last year, or at least am taking a sabatical, hehe - we have an Art. - i.e. Real Art. - community over here).

Oh this is marvelous feedback. Some one who lives below the grabber’s radar:) Thank you clareartista for the encouragement: “My only stable income is around 130 Euros per month, though I am gifted a great deal more privately, in kind, and through barter and mutually-beneficial gifting and giving-taking within my community.”
Lifestyle change would be much easier for me if the community was on board. The most difficult part of frugality is sharing its creativity among friends and family enough to inspire their own awakenings. Aloneness has always been easy for me, but now it feels like a doubling down in order to prove something. An unnecessary weight. Class structures here are very set. Deviations not so much frowned upon as ignored. It’s like “go ahead, prove your point, but we don’t care. You walk, we drive.” And so I walk. A lot!
Thank you so much for the kindness and inspiration:)
