What a Set! The Splinterlands team are making us lose our minds with each sneak peek release in addition to iconic members like Goldmatters and infidel1258 didn't fail to amaze us with some amazing cards!
What's more is that the set is so close to release: on the 5th December with finally Untamed being out of modern thanks god no more Llama & Kitty and would be replaced by Rebellion

In this blog I would like to speak a bit about some monsters that would have an impact not only on the silver league but also on the higher levels but first:

New Abilities

We got 4 New abilities:

• Armored Strike: only applied to Melee: The more Armor you have, the higher damage you get! without a doubt a very useful stat on a Tank Monster supported by Protect + Repair
• Corrosive Ward: The Counter to Armored Strike since it permanently decrease enemy's armor by 2 and naturally a nerf to Protect + Repair
• Flank: Being a possibilus the Wise fan, by giving the 2nd position monster the Reach Ability, I would absolutely welcome this ability as many High Damage Melee Monsters don't have enough tankiness to withstand the Tank Position.
• Lookout: It's tricky to position a Lookout monster I would have like to take a look at some Lookout monster to see how we can use this ability.

Weapons Traning Changes

Man I love this ability and the team did make it even more significant! There are a couple of changes:

• When the trainer dies, the trained (attackless) monster DON'T LOSE its damage only in case it got attacked by Dispel
• Trainers will train attackless monsters to the FULL amount of damage up to the cap of 4 (no longer half the damage)

This is Huge, I can think of Chaos Agent, Baakjira or even Almo Cambio that are already OP in term of utility having the ability to attack!

Monsters on the Top List

Lord Than(os)alor

This monster needs some nerfs, it's true that its vulnerable to Giant Kill but look at

• Stats:
  • Tankiness: 11 hit points
  • High Speed
  • Insane Damage and on the green team (Obsidian Buff)
• Abilities:
  • Amplify could help in certain rulesets
  • Scavenger the longer the battle the higher its health, encouraging its use to the 5th/6th Position (similar to immolation)
  • Rust that would give an edge against Grandmaster Rathe

Anasth Soothsayer

Holy Moly what an insane support card to the point that I forget that it can act as an off-tank thanks to 4 Speed, high health and Dodge
Imagine these abilities used on Baakjira:

• Cleanse
• Tank Heal
• Dispel if faced with a mirror match against a trained Baakjira
• Lookout considering putting it on the 5th position to provide some protection against sneak

Moxian Rebel

Did I forget to mention how cool the Rebellion Art is! We got here a Magic Weapon trainer and it's Neutral
Pair it with Obsidian and you gain up to +6 Magic Damage (2+2+2) if its adjacent to 2 Attackless monsters!
The phase is kind of useless but camouflage is amazing on this monster!

Infernal Firestorm

Make a good marketing and People would buy this card JUST FOR ITS AMAZING ARTWORK!
I can think of many combination with the Flank Ability including:

• Forgotten One when it gets Piercing at higher levels
• Grum Flameblade that can proc Bloodlust
• Mantaroth the legendary Rebellion Promo Card
• the recently relesed Chaos Golem and its insane stats
  

Redwyrm Dragon

Great stats overall in term of Tankiness and evasiveness:

• Enough hit points!
• 6 Speed + Flying => higher chance to evade most Melee/ranged attacks

More importantly, This would be highly contested in a couple of Rulesets: Noxious Fumes & Earthquake let alone putting it in a Martyr Sandwich

This would be my picks for now and there are still many more monsters that would be announced soon so let's keep following the updates on @splinterlands till the full release of the Rebellion Set!
