Battle Mage Secrets: No one wants to get closer!
Hello dear splinterlands community, I hope y'all having a wonderful Day 😁 and welcome to another Cantfoldaces's Hive Blog for this weekly battle challenge!
Today, we'll be talking about the Keep Your Distance battle ruleset, where no Melee is allowed on the battlefield!

The first think that comes to our mind is the expectency of facing either Magic or Ranged Damage.
In this context, by focusing on the Defensive side, the first summoner that comes to mind is Mimosa NightShade -1 Ranged + Void + affliction
- -1 Ranged : Ranged Damage Nerf
- Void : Magic Damage Nerf
- Affliction: Halts the Healing sluts
- The sole disadvantage: High Mana cost!
On the 2nd place we can find both Quix The Devious & Immortalis to proves their benefits on this specific ruleset:
Abilities
Since we have a 50% chance of facing Magic and 50% of facing Ranged, opting for some of these abilities would be crucial for victory:

Into The Battle!
I will be bringing a Wild Silver League battle, with the following rulesets:
In this battle we have the What Doesn't Kill You Ruleset where all monsters have the Enrage Ability, while it benefits most Melee Monsters, it's crucial to place high speed Monsters in the Team. Keep Your Distance is our Main Theme.
Fire, Life, Death, Dragon which let me think that I'll probably face a mixture of Archery and Magic and a Mid-Mana Cap will allow me to prepare for a decent Comp
-1 Speed Nerf is very important in this battle since Speed is crucial in Enraged Ruleset
5 Speed + Flying would result to dodging most upcoming ranged damage from lower speed Monsters, but most importantly, ENRAGE would make this monster even more evasive with UP TO 8 SPEED
This monster becomes even more ridiculous when unlocking the Phase ability at higher levels
First as a damage dealer would deal 3 Ranged Damage per turn in addition to the Weapon Training that would bestow an adjacent No attack Monster +2 Ranged Damage, the reason I've placed Pelacor Conjurer on the 2nd Position
Void Armor gives more defensive stats for this monster to hold on longer (against Ranged + Magic) in case both the 1st & 2nd Monsters are defeated
3 Ranged Damage followed by one of the highest Speed of the game garantee being the one to hit first and Hurt! Naturally placing it on the last position to benefit most of its Agressive Power!
That was a bit of a surprise having to face Yodin with an Army of Ranged Fire Monsters, luckily I did bring Quix to nerf some of the Ranged and Potential Blast damage!
Round 1
Watch the Speed of my couple Enraged Monsters:
- Void Dragon Evasive Chance: (8-2)*10 + 25% = 85% Chance
- Pelacor Conjurer Evasive Chance: (6-2)*10 + 25% = 65% Chance
The Enrage Ruleset + The speed Nerf from Quix did lead to these numbers so you'll witness these kind of misses, Good luck hitting my monsters and trying to proc Blast!
Round 2
With the speed advantage and high Evasive chances, the battle is greatly going on my favor:
- Both Goblin Tower and Venari Marksrat were defeated (althought its placement is somehow wrong), with the Monster receiving the buff got placed on the 1st position, hence the inability to attack
Round 3
Venari Crystalsmith Heals restores the Void Dragon's health leading to the desactivation of the Enrage Statut and an easier target for Scavo Firebolt to hit
The Blast Damage did a number to Pelacor Conjurer but it's still alive
Only a couple of Monsters to go to achieve the Victory!
Always Feels good to win against these super popular OP Summoners!

I was curious about the end result of this battle so I wanted to check my actual chance of winning on Splintertools and the result was BY FAR on my favour for a 96% win chance The only way to lose would be the RNG crushing my luck
