HBD Savings - Collect, compound and repeat | June 2024

Another month has passed and while my yields from HBD savings compounded I got to the date when I can claim them. While the Hive price seems to have gone down the drain for a bit, seeing the HBD stablecoin numbers growing up simply gives me peace of mind. This shows the power of diversification and having a stablecoin in your portfolio which offers good performance like HBD at 20% APR. And to tell you the truth it is more than 1 year since when I converted a big bunch of my HBD to HIVE in the hopes that Hive will provide better yields and I am still waiting for that to happen. Thus, restocking my HBD in the Savings simply took some worries about that and any hurry to get my money back. Thus, I can wait for a longer period of time for that to happen, patiently.

HBD accounting

One step at a time, I have gathered HBD and deposited it with each opportunity into the Savings account. In the previous month when I have claimed HBD Interest which went straight away into the Savings account, I had into my account 3,936.917 HBD. The received interest for my holdings was in the amount of 65.371 HBD and with monthly gains from content creation, curation and engagement in the amount 73 HBD, I have ended up with a balance of 4,075.288 HBD. At a 20% APR this should push my next month earnings from Savings at around 67.92 HBD, which is not too shabby if you were to ask me. I am advancing little by little until I make it to 100 HBD/monthly, which would be my first target.

HBD goals

My goals for the HBD stablecoin on the Hive blockchain remained the same which is to have $6,000 HBD in Savings once again. This would translate into 100 HBD per month into yields, which is pretty decent for a first milestone. Once I tap that I can think of future milestones, but I don't want to limit myself to one number or specific move, thus I first want to get there and after I can plan accordingly to market conditions and what's best. Nevertheless one thing is clear for me and that is you need a stablecoin in your portfolio. And for me HBD simply covers that need and with a 20% APR I would say quite gracefully.

The rules of the game when it comes to HBD and the Savings account are quite simple: collect, compound and repeat. I am not doing that just base on a monthly basis when I get my yield, but whenever any HBD drops into my account either from content creation or curation. This way I put all my HBD to work every second and start earning more yield from that point on. There is no sleep for HBD, thus let it work for us. This is the way!
