Green Tomodachi de North Brewing para #beersaturday (esp-eng)
Para el #beersaturday de esta semana os traigo una IPA diferente. Se trata de la Green Tomodachi de los ingleses North Brewing.
Cerveza: Green Tomodachi
Cervecera: North Brewing Co. (Leeds, Inglaterra)
Estilo: India Pale Ale
Alcohol: 6º
Lúpulo: Saaz, Idaho 7, Citra y Talus.
Formato: Lata de 440 ml
He visto de todo a la hora de hacer cervezas e innovar tanto en estilos como en combinaciones de elementos muy curiosos. Y he de decir que no todo vale o no todo funciona. Aunque hay ocasiones, como con esta cerveza, que te sorprenden gratamente. A primera vista el té verde y la cerveza no parecen una buena combinación, pero... resulta que sí. La cerveza está realmente buena.
La avena y el trigo suavizan un poco el sabor. El té Matcha verde aporta ese amargor típico de la bebida, pero de manera sutil, sin apoderarse del sabor por completo. Los lúpulos que lleva hacen el resto. Matices florales, cítricos y un puntito de coco. No soy fan del lúpulo Talus. Es muy fuerte y se lleva por delante el resto de sabores (Su potencia y fuerte sabor a coco me desquician)pero en esta ocasión esta domado y no destaca. Aunque me hubiera gustado probar esta cerveza sin su presencia.
En cualquier caso. Una gran cerveza. Si te gustan las IPA, si te gusta probar cervezas diferente o si eres un amante del té... debes probarla.

I have seen everything when it comes to making beers and innovating both in styles and in combinations of very curious elements. And I have to say that not everything is valid or not everything works. Although there are occasions, like with this beer, that you are pleasantly surprised. At first glance, green tea and beer don't seem like a good combination, but... it turns out that they are. The beer is really good.
The oats and wheat soften the flavor a bit. Matcha green tea brings that typical bitterness of the drink, but in a subtle way, without taking over the flavor completely. The hops it carries do the rest. Floral, citrus nuances and a hint of coconut. I'm not a fan of Talus hops. It is very strong and takes the rest of the flavors ahead (Its power and strong coconut flavor drive me crazy) but this time it is tamed and no stands out. Although I would have liked to try this beer without his presence.
In any case. A great beer. If you like IPAs, if you like to try different beers or if you are a tea lover... you must try it.
