Honestly, travelling interstate these days is a huge risk. Then imagine when you set out for a long distance to the north. That's a bigger risk, and even though this is something I would have zero courage for, I commend you for it. Sometimes, it takes us to risk certain things to get what we want out of life, and this is an example. Luckily, you also had a good time during your stay there, with fresh perspectives and new friends made.
