I hope that repair goes well. I have never done that thing of recovering using the Microsoft account key, so it caught my attention.
And seeing as the computer is about 4 years old, I don't think it's old enough to have serious hardware failures, but you never know. I have seen very strange cases on occasion, of the type we call "crabs" because they behave in such a strange way.

I did a complete re-install of windows and it's like new again. !BBH
A root solution, and I've read that it's generally faster than trying other means. At first it seems like a drastic measure to me since I'd have to install all the custom drivers I usually use, and the work programs. But several friends have always told me that formatting everything is the best solution when there's a problem that doesn't want to be solved.
