From Canal Calm to Coffee Conquest

Friday energy hits different. Maybe it’s because the weekend is peeking around the corner, or maybe it’s because I split today’s walk between zen-like canal paths and the shiny chaos of the mall.

The first half felt straight out of a nature documentary – mirror-like water, birdsong, and trees doing their leafy thing. Then came the second act: escalators, artificial lights, and the heady aroma of coffee shops pulling me in like a tractor beam.

End result? 11,000 steps clocked, 8.5km covered, and tomorrow’s caffeine stash secured (extra forte, obviously – because regular coffee is for Monday energy).

Fitness takeaway of the day: You don’t have to hit every step on the same route. Mix it up. Get outside if you can, embrace indoor laps if you must, and reward yourself with something that makes you grin (like an overpowered espresso shot).
