Tested But Not Defeated.

If there’s one major lesson life has taught me, especially since i became an adult, it’s that life is not always going to be rosy. There will be tough times—challenges you never expected, situations that will shake you, and moments that will test your resilience.

For me, one of those defining moments happened just last year. That was when my parents got divorced, and everything in my life took a dramatic turn. Things became really difficult. We had to move out of the big house we once lived in and start a completely new life in a different location. Everything changed, and not in a way I was prepared for.

At that same time, I had just gained admission into the university, and as you can imagine, the financial pressure was intense. My mum—bless her heart—did everything she possibly could to make sure I resumed school. She made sacrifices I will never forget. But even after getting into school, things weren’t any easier. Feeding was a big issue. I wasn’t getting enough money to take care of myself, and it was so frustrating trying to balance survival with school responsibilities.

To be very honest, it was one of the hardest periods of my life. But somehow, I stumbled across this amazing blockchain, and it ended up helping me in ways I never expected. Through it, I was able to sort out some bills and ease the pressure, at least a little. It gave me a way to support myself and made me feel a bit more in control.

Still, that year wasn’t done with me. I failed a particular one unit course—something that really hit me hard. I couldn’t believe it. If someone had told me I’d ever fail a course, especially one I thought was simple, I would have strongly disagreed. I was devastated. Not just because of the grade, but because I knew how hard my mum worked for me to even be in school. I felt like I had let her down.

Thankfully, I carried the course over and ended up getting a B. That alone reminded me that failure isn’t the end—sometimes. It’s just a pause, not a full stop.

There were countless nights I cried quietly, overwhelmed by stress and sadness. But one thing that helped me pull through was my mindset. I never stopped believing. I kept hoping that things would eventually get better. That mindset—holding on to hope—kept me going.

Another thing that helped me was surrounding myself with the right people—or at least, learning to distance myself from the wrong ones. During that tough season, I realized just how much of a difference your circle can make. I won’t lie. Not everyone around me understood what I was going through. Some people even made me feel worse, either by comparing their lives to mine or by being insensitive to my struggles.

But then, there were a few genuine ones—people who checked on me, encouraged me, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone. They might not have been able to fix my problems, but just having someone to talk to made things a bit easier. Sometimes, all it takes is someone saying, “You’re doing well, just keep going,” to keep you from giving up.

Looking back now, I honestly see growth. I see someone who’s been tested, broken, and reshaped by life—but didn’t give up. The journey is still on, and I know more challenges will come, but I also know now that I have what it takes to survive and even thrive through them.

I may not have everything figured out yet, but I’ve come a long way from where I started. And i am definitely grateful for that.

Thanks for reading.
