A Gentle Reminder for Anyone Fighting Silent Battles.

From what I've seen, heard, and experienced personally, there's something I've come to realize. And even though we often just brush it off, it doesn't change the reality of things. Now, the thing is that a lot of us are actually facing real life situations, fighting battles and going through a lot behind the cameras/behind our screens.

I won't be sharing anybody's story for secrecy sake, but I was prompted to write this after the discussion I had with someone just few days ago. She discussed a lot of things with me and I can't help but share some of my realities and predicaments with her too.

That was when it hit me the most, that a lot of us are just here online laughing, chatting, posting, taking pictures, and trying to act like everything is fine, but deep down, a lot of us are actually not fine, we are tired, sick, and exhausted.

Life itself is not easy, and having to also level up into the adulthood stage is another weight on its own. Responsibilities begin to choke, expectations rise, a lot of things happening around, young ones expecting you to come through for them, parents expecting certain things from you, while you're also trying to figure out life yourself. Honestly, it is not easy, its something I can very well relate with, it is my reality at the moment as well. And if you're a Nigerian, it will even hit you more, talk of the insecurity in our land, the high cost of living, the pressure and all, even those who we know to be rich and doing well for themselves are getting affected, how much more WE.

This is not to say only Nigerians are facing things, no, not at all. All around the globe people are facing, battling and struggling with one thing or the other. Just that its different for everyone, and we can't even say one is bigger than the other. Some are dealing with heartbreak, some battling sicknesses, some mourning the loss of a loved one, some smiling outside and crying inside, some......a lot that I can't keep on mentioning.

And with all of that, what some just needs is a listening ear. Not an advice or money or anything, they just need someone who can listen to them and maybe give them some encouragement. Which was what I gave to the lady I mentioned earlier. Someone who would see them, who can relate with them, who will understand them and not judge them... someone who will give them a bit of a spark to keep going and not give up.

So, I thought it best to do so here as well. Just to remind y'all of something that's simple, but important and deep.

Please, don't give up on yourself.

I know the road is hilly, slippery and full of stuffs that could make you want to stop going, but please don't stop. One things I always remind myself of is that, it won't rain forever. Yea, no matter how long it takes, the rain will stop and the sky will become clear. So, this season you're in as well will end, just keep your hopes alive. The fact that you're still here means your life has meaning, there's strength inside of you, and that you will definitely do exploit.

Whatever it is you're going through is just a part of your story. It is not the end. Just take things one at a time, don't rush, don't push yourself too hard, rest if you need to, cry if you must, but don't ever think of quitting. Wipe those tears, come out of that thought and go harder.

I'm rooting for you, and I don't just believe, but I'm sure lines will fall in pleasant places for you. It might not look like it now, but you just be patient and watch.

It's a new week. So, go again this week, keep your hopes alive and never give in to any negative thoughts.
