Good day fellow hivers! How are you these days? I hope your day is bright as a sunny day. I hope everyone is doing well. It's me toniagurl27 would like to share a hidden gem in a middle of a jungle. Last Sunday was beautiful, bright sunny day, me and my husband together with our seven-year-old daughter decided to head stunning falls. I just want to cool off in the water because the weather is so hot.

In the Southern part of Cebu there is a hidden paradise in the middle of the forest which offers three in one adventure such as trekking, thrilling jumps and refreshing dips, the crystal-clear nature pool and cascading beauty of waterfalls gives relaxation and rejuvenates the soul of the travellers.

The waterfalls are easily accessible from our house, just a half an hour drive away. We can easily visit such beautiful place whenever we want. It was a perfect escape from the heat. They have guests everyday fewer during weekdays but lots during weekends both local and foreigners. The entrance fee is very affordable for only fifty pesos per head and children are free of charge plus twenty pesos parking fee if you bring motorcycle.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact Location: Comppostela, Alegria Cebu
Via (public transport): From Cebu South Bus terminal, ride the one that's bound for Bato via Barili route. The travel time approximately 3-4 hours. Tell the conductor you get off at Sangi, Madridejos, Alegria or you can tell you are going to Cangcalanog Falls. There are motorcycles or habal-habal waiting for passengers negotiate with them for the fare beforehand or find a registered tour guide.

To get to Cancalanog Falls, you will need to hike for around 20-30 minutes from the jump point in Sitio Samoyao. The jump point is easy to spot because you'll see a signpost on the side of the road. From there, it's an 800-meter walk to the falls, depending on where you wanted to be dropped off.

Vehicle is not allowed to go down because the road is small and bit difficult and slippery depending on the weather. It's your choice if you want to walk down to the falls or ride a motorcycle going down there.

Before dipping in the lagoon, you have first registered your name and pay the entrance fee. They have their comfort rooms besides and there are available stores nearby. There are available life jackets for rent to those travelers didn't know how to swim or much better to wear life jackets for more safety.

From the registration booth you'll have to walk a short distance, the road is uneven and gravelly in texture, bit slippery and must have watch out your steps. This is remote and isolated area but worth to trek. This is highly recommended for those people who wants to escape from bustling city.
