FASTING A CURE

When I remember how sickly I used to be, I am very happy that I am where I am today. The truth is I have come a long way when it comes to my health. Life is so quiet that almost no one knew how I battled a blood disease for years. If I am to be honest I have even forgotten how it felt to suffer from one sickness to another. I remember how I woke up one morning to find out that my hands were very swollen, it was like I gained 5 times my total weight in one hand. The funny thing was that it was how it left after three days and a week later it was my face. My mum was always taking me to the hospital because with everything that was happening I was finding it difficult to eat. That was me for more than 10 years, but my mum found a way to keep me in check with my meds. I could never skip the 3 month dose, and the doctor even warned the result would be catastrophic. During my boarding school days it was easy to look healthy as my house master was always making sure I never skipped my meds. So yeah, my mum looked after me at home, and the house masters did the job in school until I was out of school.

When I finally entered the higher institution, my mum would always remind me to take my meds, but after three months I decided to stop because I heard my pastor say I could overcome sickness by faith. I decided to put my faith to the test and everything was going fine until a month later when I became seriously sick that my school had to contact my parents because they were scared I would die and no hospital around really knew what was wrong. My mum came to my school and explained my condition to the doctor and that was how I was revived. There was nothing my ears did not hear after that day, everyone started to watch me to see if I would skip again. Well I did all I was asked for three months until I decided I was tired of taking the meds. I decided to stop it and was ready to die secretly if it didn’t stop. I started to embark on back to back fastings and truth be told the sickness came back, I remember feeling like I was going to die on that rainy day when I decided to use the last bit of strength I had left to enter the rain to church. Before I got to church I was already fine.

A few years later I was at a seminar when I heard a doctor talking about how impactful fasting is and how it can cure certain terminal diseases. When he started giving examples of diseases that fasting has helped to cure and he mentioned Anemia, I realized that it was what helped in my recovering process the second time. Anemia is a condition where the body doesn’t have enough red blood cells, and although there were treatments and medications for it, fasting helped in building my red blood cells and in making them stay healthy which is one of the benefits of fasting. I no longer fast as much as I used to, but I’m grateful for unknowingly taking that bold step.

Anemia is a very bad disease. I can only imagine the amount of suffering you had to go through all those years. Taking medications morning and night for three days is al lot of work, talk more of taking it for that long. 10 years is really long yaknow.

fasting can cure a lot of things. Not fasting, actually. I wouldn't want to bring religion into this. Hunger, is very important because with hunger comes a process called autophagy. Autophagy is a process which cells breaks down and recycle damaged components. Its very important for the body yaknow.

Its really nice that you are free.

This was exactly some of the things the doctor explained and I realized it was what worked for me.

This man is so stubborn I knew 😂. But grateful you took that step of faith and God came through. Life is indeed so quiet… a lot are happening behind the scenes. We only know those closer to us.
