Hello learners.

One thing I love about humans is the unique way we are created. We are blessed with certain traits that help protect us, and one of those traits is instinct.
Many people have fallen into traps because they refused to listen to their instincts, only to regret it later.
I have heard countless stories of people becoming victims of evil individuals, even though they noticed warning signs from the beginning. For one reason or another, they chose to ignore those feelings.
I have personally been in situations where I allowed my instinct to guide my decisions.
One such time was with my first girlfriend. She suddenly took on a cold attitude toward me, and I couldn’t understand what I had done wrong. I kept thinking of different possibilities, and the only thing that came to mind was a situation where I didn’t support her because I felt her family was in the wrong.
Weeks passed, and things remained the same. The connection and vibes we once had were gone. Then one day, my instinct nudged me to check her social media account. When I did, everything became clear. She was cheating on me, and that explained the sudden change in her behavior.
Another experience happened when I met a young lady in a market area. She was barefoot and asked me for money to buy food. Normally, I have no problem helping people when it comes to food, but for some reason, my instinct wasn’t comfortable with giving her money that day, so I didn’t.

Days later, I realized she had turned begging into a regular activity rather than a one-time situation. I kept seeing her in the same area asking different people for money.
One thing my instinct has consistently told me is to avoid traveling to certain parts of the country by road. The stories I have heard over the years have only strengthened that conviction.
Because of the current level of insecurity in the country, my decision is now even firmer. At this stage of my life, I struggle to see what would make me embark on a journey where a safe return is not guaranteed.
A lady was recently kidnapped while traveling to collect her NYSC certificate. What was meant to be a simple journey turned into a nightmare, and reports say her abductors are demanding a ransom of #40 million. Sadly, she never got the opportunity to collect the certificate she set out to obtain.
Experiences like these have made me pay closer attention to my instincts. While instinct is not always right, there are moments when it notices things that our minds have not yet fully processed. Sometimes, it is worth listening to that inner voice.
Stay alert. Stay safe.
