Our Recent Guild Brawl and Featured Battle

Our guild has just finished another brawl. We improved kept our sixth place rank this week same as last week. In today’s post, I’ll break down our overall results, highlight my personal performance, and showcase one of my favorite battles.
Guild Rank and Personal Performance
We were consistent with our position in sixth place same as last week. We won one hundred and one battles same as the fifth place guild, T&A Legion X. However, we had nine more losses that put us in a lower ranking.
My own battle record improved from last week but still far from my best. I won six battles and lost three. Each of us who joined the brawl earned 4.7k merits and 61 SPS.
Featured Battle
The battle had a very restrictive ruleset. The rulesets included Magic Reflect, Healed Out and Fog of War. The first two discouraged the use of Quora Towershead since it punished magic attacks and removed one of her abilities, healing. I chose the Death splinter who has one of my favorite gladiator cards, Xulax Nightwind. He's a legendary card who has both offensive power and defensive abilities against magic and melee attackers. Since the archon grants the Close Range ability, my damage dealers in the back were all range attackers including my second position unit who has dual attack of range and melee. Thraghun is a good second position unit especially when paired with Razi Clanktrap. He has dual attack of range and melee which he can both use from second position because of his Reach ability. He can also use both from second position because he is given the Close Range ability by the archon.
My enemy also chose Death with a higher level archon. He had dual attack legendary card Tatiana Blayde in first position. Already, this gave me an advantage because she has no armor and her melee attacks will be returned by Xulax Nightwind's Thorns ability. He has another melee attacker in second position and a couple of magic damage dealers. All their attacks will be returned by my tank's ability and the Magic Reflect ruleset. His last two units were also range damage dealers. I expected to win this battle but I was terribly disappointed. My tank was immediately killed while Tatiana Blayde dodged my attacks. Even with Thorns and Magic Reflect his team did not take much damage. The battle ended with the enemy's team still complete while mine was wiped out. It was one of my worst defeats in brawl.
