Thankful for what?

It was a pretty depressing holiday as the Detroit Lions looked like a high school squad compared to the Green Bay Packers once again. It's never been easy for the Lions to win on Thanksgiving day, but after last year, it felt like we might be turning a corner. Instead, we had an absolute blow off of a game at Ford Field and it actually makes me feel a bit bad for any of the people who paid money to go watch it.

What an absolute waste.

It would seem we are back to being the "same old Lions", and I might once again have to find myself cheering for the Rams or the Broncos when it comes to the post season. I absolutely blame Jared Goff for all of this, even though I know some of that blame should be spread around to the head coach and the defensive and offensive lines.

It's like they just don't care anymore. I can't even be mad at the officials for this one. The Lions have been giving up way too many points for too long now. In the past they used to be able to score more and that was okay, but when a team can actually stop Goff, we have pretty much no chance.

It's a total joke.

So yeah, the Lions lost to the Packers 31 to 24 on Thanksgiving day. Enjoy your turkey...

I will say I was happy to see Dallas take down Kansas City 31 to 28, though I am not really a Dallas fan either. Cincinnati beat Baltimore 32 to 14, and Chicago continues to solidify their spot at the top of the NFC North 24 to 15 over the Eagles. Philly has been on a bit of a slide lately and that's not good for the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Carolina stole a win from the Rams 31 to 28, and Tampa Bay edged out the Cardinals 20 to 17.

Somehow, the Jets managed to score another win against Atlanta 27 to 24, and Miami put just about the final nail in the coffin of the Saints with a 21 to 17 win.

Houston handed Indy one of their few losses of the season beating them 20 to 16, and Jacksonville added to Tennessee's woes besting them 25 to 3.

The 49ers took down Cleveland 26 to 8, Minnesota got blanked by the Seahawks 26 to 0, and The Chargers beat the Raiders 31 to 14. Finally, Buffalo had a 26 to 7 win over Pittsburgh, Denver squeaked past Washington 27 to 26, and New England continues to shine beating the Giants 33 to 15.

That puts the Patriots at the top of the AFC with Denver close behind them. Meanwhile, Tennessee sits alone at the bottom.

Over in the NFC, there is a four way tie at the top between Chicago, The Rams, Seattle, and San Francisco. Meanwhile down at the bottom is New Orleans and The New York Giants with only two wins.

We are at the point where teams are getting eliminated from contention for the playoffs. Will your team be able to squeak in?
