Hello everyone, my beautiful hive naija people, it's another beautiful weekend and we are so happy to have you here once again. It’s nice to get everyone together every weekend to talk about random things and just have fun.
OBJECTIVE
As we all know, the Hive Naija Weekend Engagement is focused on promoting the togetherness of the Nigeria brethren through engagement and it's also now concerned of the well being of each and everyone who is part of the engagement. This account was opened to make the engagement more personal and officia. A long time ago, I thought, I shared and I asked "Why don't we chat on hive every Weekend?"

"Well, we won't be the first as there are some weekend engagement trends already on Hive! But this would be THE NIGERIAN VERSION!"

Hi everyone! I hope we dey alright? I’d like to say since we resumed this hangout. We’ve all been supportive and engaging.
I wanted to say aside the engagement, this account was created back in 2022 to support Nigerians too. A lot happened, but we are back and that’s the next phase.

This one is very funny and I think it's mostly known almost everywhere. Like when you grow up, you will just remember some things you've fed yourself with growing up and will just be laughing
Myths choke!.
So the one I remember is them telling you "* don't jump over someone's head,else he/she will not grow again."
If we're playing then and by accident a child jumps another's head, they'll have to tell the child to jump back the second time else that person will remain small like that forever.
If you have short genes,just saying it,which one is "it's because they used to jump over his head when he was small"😂😂

The one that when you pass over a pregnant woman leg and they tell you to go back because the person the pregnant woman will give birth to a child that look like the person

Talking about myths, how many of us here heard the one about fish eye, how eating the eye of a fish can make one dull, or if someone crosses your leg while sitting, you will give birth to someone like em, or when walking in the market, one shouldn't bend down to look back in-between their leg 🤣🤣🤣🤣 if not....

I remember as a young girl, my dad will always say I should stop picking my food from the ground once it falls down. Well, that's if you aren't fast enough, hehe. Most times, the food and I fall together. It won't even be up to a second and I have picked it up that my dad won't even notice it. 😂🏃♀️➡️
We call it the five seconds rule. As long as I can pick up my food from the ground in five seconds, to me, it's safe to still eat, lol.

Okay so, the one myth I fell for during my childhood and for a long time I held onto and believe was that when any of my tooth removed, I should count 7 stones and throw it on the iron sheet on the roof of the house and lizard must not see it. Then seven days after, my teeth will return back to me 🤣🤣🤣
Then, we try protecting our tooth from removing but we don’t know anything then. Lol

Something similar to it is when you spit on the floor and if someone else mistakenly steps on you instead of you cleaning it immediately, you will develop sore throat and yes, I think that works, though. Try it again and experiment it 🤣🤣

Childhood myths are numerous. I don't even know which to choose from but one myth that I fell for and still fall for today (unconsciously) is the one my mom told me. She said...
So as I was growing tall as a child, my mom claimed that it was the food going to my legs and that was why I was tall and slim like a pole😁😁.
Thank God for education. I learnt better in school but till date, I unconsciously take a seat whenever I want to eat due to that myth😂.
Trust me, as a child then, I believed everything my parents said hook, line and sinker

I remember but me I grew up In the city with no grasses around but what I did was to pee on the shoe of whomever wanted to discipline you.
Let's say you commit against your dad. You will have to pee on his slippers and make sure he wears them. That way, he would forget all about your sin.

Hmmm, there are actually a lot of myths, i mean a whole lot of them but heres the one i found more interesting, sounds really funny and i sincerely feel stupid for a believing a thing like that, it says;
"if you kill a snake servant you'll never have a child in life, you'll be barren forever"
A snakes servant is actually a reptile called a salamander, it looked like a snake having a tongue that was slit into two like that of a snake so it was nicknamed "snake servant"
i remember how the sight of one was like a nightmare, which lady doesn't want a child in marriage?
