The Hypocrisy of Evil

(edited)

I wrote about how I found out the real meaning of an eye for an eye and coincidentally, I watched a documentary on YouTube about how murderers were attacked in courtrooms.

This particular one that got my reaction was about a guy who murdered 5 girls and buried them in hills. When he was caught, he pleaded guilty and at the courthouse, he showed no remorse. The annoying part was that he also smirked when one of the deceased’s mother was reading her impact statement.

That particular statement was so emotional that got almost half of the courtroom in tears but there he was, all smiley. During his investigation interview, he was boasting of how people dangerous he was and how people should be scared of him. He even said he knew he was going to go to prison eventually and his cell mates should be scared of him.

But back in the courtroom, one of the deceased girl’s uncle attacked him and you know what happened? He was running for his life. Yes, I know right! He was scared. I actually laughed in that moment because it looked hilarious. You are able to take lives and claim you’re dangerous but you get to run away from danger? You get to run and save your life? Such a clown.

What I’ve realized is that people who do evil to others really can’t stand it being done to them. Liars hate to be lied to. Thieves hate to be robbed. Abusers hate to be abused. Manipulators hate to be manipulated. If that is the case then why don’t we just stick to do unto to others what you want others to do unto you? Or should I directly say don’t do to someone what you don’t want to be done to you?

Either way, I think the message is still clear. Whatever you can’t take, don’t dish out to your neighbor. Life is already tough for others so if you can’t be kind to others, then just stay in your lane and be minding your business.
