First Look at MuTerra Game

Recently I learned about a Pokemon style game here on the Hive blockchain called MuTerra. Curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to take a peek at this new game, picking up a tamer license and checking out the game world. MuTerra is not quite ready for prime-time as the dev team is still working on game play components, but it looks like they are getting fairly close to making it happen.

The game starts out in the town of Rangat, where you can explore a number of buildings and talk to a variety of NPCs. The buildings include the HQ, a tavern/restaurant, a forge, and a potion shop that I have checked. Some buildings cannot be entered, and I haven’t checked all of them. Possibly being saved for future use as the game could use a bank for players to store extra gear.

One of the NPCs will direct you to Sweetplains, where you will encounter wild Mutees and other NPCs. I haven’t explored that area yet, but I have learned that even though you can kill a Mutee and the game says you collected a material item from it, the material doesn’t end up in your inventory. That feature, as well as some additional features, should be coming soon.

Graphically the game is pretty in a gritty, post-apocalyptic way, and that is part of the appeal. Kind of a retro gaming look.

After doing some exploring I picked up some of the early release Maldives crates. These are only available on the after market, and they contain five Mutees with at least one being uncommon or better. Out of five crates I bought, I ended up with a bunch of common and uncommon, one rare and three epic Mutees. I pretty good bunch of packs I would say with that many epics dropping.

If you have guessed that I like Pokemon style games, then you would be write on the money. I am a late comer to these types of games and have played a few here and there, mostly with my daughter. As I like these games, and I have a preference for games that I can play casually, meaning I can log on to it for a couple of hours a week, MuTerra is looking like it will be right up my alley. I don’t want to play a game where I feel like I have to play hours on end every day in order to advance.

I understand that PVP will eventually be a component of the game, and as long as that is an option that I can choose not to participate in, that will work out fine with me. I have never been a big fan of PVP games as there are always players who have far more time (and money) to sink into being good at PVP.

There is a lot coming up with MuTerra, and they have allied themselves with a number of different projects to help gain visibility. If monster tamer games are your cup of tea, then definitely have a look. You can even use a default common tamer to check out the first map to get an idea of how the game looks and feels; but to get beyond the first map, you will need to purchase a tamer license. And yes, you can even have more than one tamer to play in the game.

Looking forward to what MuTerra has in-store for its players in the coming weeks. Should be a lot of fun. You can check out the game at - https://muterra.in/
