Η€reetings to you weekend adventurers in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES Community,
I have seen how diligently you post your weekend experiences and how many beautiful places you all visit, with me it is a bit more dignified, we have the changing weather in Germany at the moment, which means:
Rain, storm, snow, sometimes all at once and then another day of rest. LOL
But that doesn't stop me from travelling in my imagination to places from times gone by, and it is precisely on this adventurous journey that I would like to take you. πŸ’

I admit that I spent more than a weekend exploring the world of the warring Amazons, because I don't watch TV or listen to the radio, and when I do use these devices, it's only when I choose the content I want to watch.
This is exactly why I love reading.
It opens all the doors to the worlds I visit and I can let my own imagination run wild.
Moreover, reading trains visual skills, because they say that human beings live from their imagination.
So the weekends are just the right time to read.

The books I read contain both fiction and fact. My blockchain name is Themyscira, in modern times a described island where the Amazons lived. According to this, the Amazons were called the Daughters of Themyscira. I could find out little about this, because according to my research, their place of residence was in the Caucasus Mountains, because they belong to the Caucasians, who were called Scythians at that time.

It is clear from many different readings, such as the Edda, that the Valkyries of the time, who were also known as Amazons, were human women who freely chose to be Valkyries.
They had the choice in Germanic-Scythian history to shape their lives as they wished. Forced feminisation, as is common today, was therefore not necessary.

The word Amazons comes from Germanic.
Amazo-, Amazon means blackbirds. The ancient Greeks adopted here a name of the advanced civilisation from which the Amazons came, namely the Germanic-Scythian.

I would like to add that the Romans renamed the Scythians Germanic tribes to disguise their history. According to this, it was completely normal among the Germanic ancestors of the peoples of Europe that women could consciously choose to live a life as mother and housewife, as seer/healer or as warrior/Amazon.
From weekend to weekend, I catapulted myself into and let the world of times gone by take hold of me, where the main focus is to explore things like battle, honour and glory, hunting, fate and wondrous stories with a supernatural touch. 🧚

The Edda is not a book of fairy tales, but the historical story of the European peoples at the times when Central Europeans were still called Middle Earth, or Middle Garden, and which can probably be dated before, during and after the time of the Flood.

The Scythian-Germanic Amazons, like the men, were brave mounted archers and shot backwards at full gallop to hit their target. This archery technique was a manoeuvre that was hard on the enemy, and the Mongols copied and later adopted it. The manoeuvre required extraordinary riding skills and body control, as the hands had to remain free for the bow shot and the horse could only be steered by applying pressure from the thighs.

In addition, they mastered the skills of swordsmanship, the tasks of the Amazons were divided, some took responsibility in the event of an impending war to protect the women and children and bring them to safety, others ensured that the battle lines of the men were secured and that no one left the battle formation, and another group of Amazons ensured that the fallen were buried or the injured were brought from the battlefield.

But the most important quality of a Valkyrie/warrior/Amazon was to live virginally. If they didn't, they were no longer warrior women, as described in the story of Brunhilde in the Song of the Nibelungs. Which is not such a bad thing, because love was also supposed to find its way and so they were left with a life as a family foundress in a new phase of life.

What impresses me most about this time of my ancestors is that they were still in direct confrontation with their enemies, protected their homeland at all costs and fought to preserve their existence, their culture and their homeland. They lived in harmony with nature and cultivated clan fire in their community. At that time, no one wondered where their place was, because everyone freely chose their place in the clan.

The wonderful thing about these past times, are the genetic anchors. I still feel this life in me today, although thousands of years have passed and I chose my profile name without knowing what it really meant, simply out of an intuitive feeling.

The disappointing thing about today's reality is that you no longer meet your enemies on the battlefield to look them in the eye, that you only see riding across the steppe in films, that you only notice the four winds that once blew through your long hair, if at all, only when farting on the couch, and that they are trying to connect with nature with a climate tax, while the people who want to impose it on us have accepted the pollution of Mother Earth for years in order to sell us their goods made on petroleum-based plastic.

I would rather go back to the old days when honour, morality, family and love were not just words but deeds. I hope you enjoyed my little introduction to the bygone era of my ancestors and the explanation of why Themyscira is a fitting name for my hive profile, and that it made you want to read something yourself or read something to one's family in a cosy round.
In this sau weather, really my best weekends.

Have a nice Sunday evening, because the weekend is now as good as over, until next time.
