How I give myself special treat and relaxing leisure time, A lesson for the ladies. Ladies of hive contest 92...

Hello Everyone.

IMG_20220723_201318_573.jpg

I got another special invite by @beatrice3em who desired me to join this weeks contest and write about how I treat myself some rest and a leisurable time.

The topic is so important for me as I learnt a lesson only recently about my lifestyle and how I have waned myself skipping leisure and rest.

Been a workaholic these past few years, I am found working in between sewing and farm work, house chores and others.
The only time i have rested was at night and that was only because its a compulsory rest as the nights are usually dark and we often cannot work.

That rest too is barely enough as I could be in bed with eyes closed yet unrelaxed, some calculations and preparations for tomorrow activities and responsibilities going on in my life...

This wasn't my kind of life in the past, I have spent leisurable time and moments with books in the past.
Reading romantic books help me relax well and sometimes I could read a thousand page books in just a week, smiling and enjoying every moment.

Movies are some of my leisure companions and I delight in watching comic and love stories from Korea. I love Korean movies and yes fairy tales and barbies something childish but that's how I love them.

I also love to surf the net, back then in tbose days we had so much fun meeting new people on Facebook and wanting to chat away our leisure time with them, but things have changed drastically and its hard to find real and honest people online unless we continue to filter, that has reduced my online social life alot.

Those are my fun and memorable way I treat myself.

But at some point I took up too much responsibility at home and forgot about myself and that had a negative impact on my head.
Too much work and no rest or leisure, even my emotions were hunted until I could take it no more.
Some days in the A & E taught me some lessons about how important it is for me to relax, rest well and take proper care of myself if am going to live more healthier for the rest of my life.

Now am thinking about picking up the old habit.

If only I was a little more social in real life I wish we can have friends who we can go out together, have fun, a round table girls gist with drinks and wine.
Something like a mini get together for girls to relax, eat small chops and gossip (good gossip I mean).

I would like to visit the cinema often and probably a beach walk too and attend parties if there was room for some spending.

I used to be a workaholic as well and know exactly what you are saying! It was after a stint as an assistant manager at a well know big box retailer, that I realized I'd given my life to that and traded my family-almost! I would work 60+ hours a week, functioning on barely 4 hours of sleep a night! It was chaotic!

Fortunately, just like you are realizing, I saw the light eventually. Now, I try not to work so much and find time for other things. Don't let 'other' things turn out to be too much like work though (which I might have a tendency to do) or you are right back in the boat you were in, in the first place. Workaholics have a hard time letting go and then relaxing.

I hope your journey continues to enable you to take time to play and have fun! It's all about the balance! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!

Wow,... Am so glad that you can relate with my predicament.
Now I can also learn from you that it is not worth it to work out our lives without resting.
Hmmm... Thank for this. ❤💖
