LUV command by itself

The LUV token will begin to work only when used alone.

!LUV in a comment without other ! commands, LUV is shared.
!LUV is accompanied by other ! commands in the comment, no LUV is shared. The LUV command is simply skipped.

Why?

Here's the reasons for the change.

  1. Mostly, the idea and mission of @LUVshares is to share love with other Hive users in an authentic, real manner. Allowing only the LUV command in a comment should make the sharing more personal, more consciously intentional. This aligns well with the mission.
  2. Some users have been bundling 3 or 4 or 6 or 8 ! tip/engagement commands in comments, sometimes with little or no authentic comment at all. This does not align well with the mission.

The BEER token has already implemented this idea. See the post here. The reasoning there is essentially the same as it is here...to keep it special.

Just like you did. If your comment contains the !LUV command but also includes another ! command, the LUV command will get skipped.The goal is to cut back on "comments" that are little more than:
!LUV
!ABC
!XYZ
!GCE
!TVGY
!GWES
!!OJFD

I don't like the change!

I use LUV and other commands to give much more than an upvote.

I will have to decide, i have to spend more time, because i have to do more commentpost which also lead to much more unneccessary comments. So discussions are much more unreadable.

Or i have to search for other command, which may gibe more benefits and i have to sell my luv for it.

I think last one will happen, because my beer is currently also unused and that is a waste, so i will sell it too.
Thats like having a lot of HivePower and do not vote on posts!

i agree with @mein-senf-dazu 's comment

i often send commands together, wishing to share many of these tokens to good posts and comments. i nearly always meaningful comments with the commands, but struggle to use my quota, so much less likely to use the LUV command.

Hello @crrdlx, I also share the opinion of @mein-senf-zu and @atma.love
We use the LUV token as a reward for participants in the German lottery community!
who donates more than the minimum bet has earned a LUV
that can easily be 30 LUV per draw every week!
I think this is compatible with the goals of the LUV token. because everyone who donates more to the community deserves a LUV!
The effort now every more than 30 with an extra reply only with !LUV is very time-consuming!!
I hope you reconsider and by the way the beer token has halved due to the regulation ;-)

I think a good midway solution to unreadable threads is to give people the ability to opt out of the bot-messages (so to just send the LUV token in the background HE). Or just disable the messages all-together for everyone.

This is something I've thought about. With LUV, I like to have the reply/confirmation on. Two reasons, one, I think most people like some type of confirmation. (I know they can check it in an H-E explorer, but people aren't really going to do that.) Two, the goal is to give love, something positive and encouraging (LUV the token is just a bonus). By removing the message and allowing things to run silently in the background, this is diminished in my view.

I've actually had users fuss at me about this when I turned the replies off for a time to conserve RCs. Their premise was something like this: LUV was not following its intended goal and now it's just become nothing but a selfish mining token!

With HBIT, the reply/confirmation is less necessary, I agree. I've had it off quite often to conserve RCs. Still, I like it on because of the confirmation part. I've noticed that when it's off, the bot gets a lot of second attempts, third attempts, etc. by the same person. No doubt they figured it didn't go through, so they just try again.

Spamminess and unreadable posts is one thing I worry about. I try to whittle the LUV and HBIT response down to bare bones. It's also one reason behind the move to cut back on mass "!" commands. One thing is for sure on this, pleasing everyone isn't possible. Just got to try to do the best we can. Thank you for your feedback and thoughts on this. !LUV !hbit

Understandable. So far you are doing a good job of managing expectations and the goals of the tokens though. I'm sure a good solution will present itself if things were to change in the future.

The RCs can always be checked at https://hiveblocks.com/@luvshares and we've been holding steady in the 80s and 90s lately. It's all about the see saw between the spend rate and replenish rate of RCs. And right now we're tipped in the okay direction.

now there are quite a few tokens out there such as PIZZA BEER and WINE and more, they are all fine and full of fellowship but LUV is qualitatively on a different level so i get why you want to keep the focus on the sentiment rather than the token itself

There will be more info in the next few days, but the upshot it that some people are using the !LUV command along with several other similar tip token commands and the goal is to cut back on this. Right now, there have been no changes, stay tuned.
