🤣 Shenanigans At The Wing Kiosk & Veranda Progress 🪚

IMG_6050.JPG

Monkey-B wanted to solve some math problems while we were waiting for a Hive-Binance P2P-ABA-WING payout at the nearest kiosk.

Be Careful What You Wish For 🤭

1.JPG

Due to some technical glitches, we had to spend a few hours at a local WING kiosk while on hold with customer service. Unlike us, WING agents have a toll-free number to access customer service, so we saved a lot of money by using the local agent's phone for a few hours. Eventually we solved our crypto cashout problem, but not without some dad humor to maintain morale.

Srey-Yuu hates photos, but somehow today she seemed to tolerate a few pics with her sister, although you can see the novelty quickly wore off. Monkey-B loves to push her buttons just like I do, but only to remind she's not to cool to have a few laughs with her family.

Yours Is Coming Soon Monkey-B 🙈

IMG_6048.JPG

Monkey-B was having too much fun pestering Srey-Yuu, so when she asked me to jot down some math problems for her to solve, I decided to write out some story problems. The first few were like...

"If you have 7 apples, but you lose 2 of them and your friend gives you 9 apples, how many apples do you have?"

4.JPG

By the time she was used to solving these problems, I delivered her this gem of a question, the one you saw above in thumbnail. For some reason using the verb "fart" instead of "run" or "eat" completely ruined the mathematical equation.

5.JPG

Well, Monkey-B didn't let me down, and you can see the answer she gave me...."Sometime 1 Sometime 2." She wasn't impressed with the question, nor the thought of doing multiplication, something she's still frustrated by. I was quite pleased with myself, and when I scratched out fart and replaced it with run, Monkey-B easily solved this story problem with 7x2.

Project Veranda Progress 🪚

The framework of the riverside veranda is mostly done, so it's a matter of time before floor planks start going down, or up I should say. We're also roofing it because the rain here is almost constant, and being able to socialize outdoors during a rainstorm will be a nice feature of this addition.

Stick Bug 🕵️

7.JPG

We ran into this little thing on the construction site, missing two legs but still battling its way through life. I let it climb around on me for a while, and the @kidsisters began running in fear. There is so much biodiversity here compared to the ricefield ecosystem that is most of Cambodia.

Hahaha, I can totally relate with the problem solving. My daughter hates math, but it's one of the most important subject that one should be able to master because It's useful for everyday life. I remember how my daughter kept on giving me a glare as I tried to taught her in problem solving. 😊😊😊

Story problems can be a more fun way to learn math, but apparently my sense of humor isn't welcome.

great post sir. Playing and joking while sharing knowledge with children is a must and harmony in the family.

I know she was more amused than she let me know because fart jokes are always funny.

Thank goodness your problem can be resolved well, even though it takes a little longer because I also read in @sreypov's post and he also told about the same problem.

Btw, I'm happy to see your children and they seem to be good and funny kids..

A small mistake, but luckily we still got our funds in the end. It did take a lot of waiting with some impatient kids though. Thanks my friend, the kids get their bizarre sense of humor from me.

Whenever I see this bug I wonder how it goes through life, because of how fragile it looks 😂.

Well, apparently losing a few legs is no big deal when you have so many to spare. I think its fragility is offset by its camouflage.

Hahaha, as long as it can keep its balance.

you can see in the picture that the building is almost finished, approximately 40% has been running, hopefully there won't be any problems while the work continues. I hope what you are building now is done quickly.

I hope to see it finished soon too, it will be a great space to spend and evening with friends or a morning sipping coffee.

Incorporating some humor in problem-solving at least makes it a little lighter. Good method.

Without a doubt, but perhaps a fart joke was not the best idea for motivation.

Actually Maths is one of my strong subjects at school but I have yet to encounter such fun questions. Learning should be fun and I think you are on the right path. Enough of those boring questions.

Haha, glad you are entertained by my story problem. I was proud of myself, and Monkey liked it too, but sometimes she just can't let Dad know.

Love the math problem solving though Monkey B seems less than impressed 😂😂. Veranda is looking good!

Monkey-B is a master of fake emotions, don't believe that look of disgust and anger. Thank you for stopping by my friend.

I'm thinking monkey starts to outgrow that fart zone now, where the things that we adult finds cool, they don't(anymore). My girl lasted until 10, now I gotta really treat her like an adult.

(Edited)

I think you are correct, but for an oldschool Dad, fart jokes will never get old.

I can't believe I haven't watched this movie with the kids, yet, didn't know there was a walking stick bug in it.

I can't wait to visit. It's all looking amazing and I still can't believe you are doing it after the horror and anxiety of Suriname..

The worst day here is better than our best days in Suriname, especially when it comes to finding food.
