Ahh sorry my friend! I get a lot of notifications and as I post my newest giveaway I usually clear them for a new day, sorry about that!
Thankfully we're still in baby stages of Hive and Crypto as a whole! so over time the building here will keep improving and hopefully we will have many fully developed front-ends and useful websites/dapps for us to use, when I first found Hive I was shocked back then how much there was to offer here, quite a lot going on without many people outside of us here knowing about it which is crazy- definitely so much potential if people just give it a shot!
Thankfully I'm playing Splinterlands as just fun now so the cost of my investment isn't too bad but the bot issue is a tough one due to "crypto web3 game" everyone expects there to be no rules. I don't think people should be allowed to set up 100's of bot farms to just suck the life out of what we enjoy.
the impermanent loss one I'll try explain as easy as I can sorry for confusing! Let's say this to make it easy
Hive is $1 and HBD is $1
HIVE:HBD Pool - I deposited 100 of each token totalling $200-
Depending on the market (i.e if the price of Hive spikes to 1.05 lets say) people will see opportunity due to a price increase and start hoarding all the Hive they can, so they will swap their HBD for Hive via the pool, which has your liquidity.
You might wake up with 25 Hive - 175 HBD = $200 still, but your tokens would've experienced impermeant loss due to all the trades and swaps!
I hope that explained it well, its basically just a pre-caution as in if you're providing liquidity for something quite sought after then you could experience losing your coins when an event happens-
SPS and Splinterlands obviously the most active here on Hive, but with all the participants in pools too perhaps it'll be okay and you wouldn't experience much of an impermeant loss but it's a tough one to predict!
If they come out with great SPS news and it goes from 5 cent per to 20, the pools will definitely get drained quickly as everyone will try hoard SPS before it spikes even more-
I haven't experienced much of that in any pools I've joined, only time was for PIZZA:STARBITS I woke up and I lost about 90% of my Pizza liquidity! But I didn't withdraw my liquidity
as my shares was the same so my liquidity was still valid in this pool, If I left my Starbits I could perhaps see my Pizza slowly come back to me as people swapped Pizza back into Starbits! So overall with patients it's fine as I was happy collecting all my trading fees
but if you wanted to capitalise on something like SPS spiking, you might miss an opportunity due to providing liquidity.
Sorry if that was confusing again, I'm awful at explaining things simply lol
Yeah so many pools are almost empty with the trades, but due to that it is quite easy to collect some daily rewards if the pool has any to incentivise.
I provide for SWAP.HIVE:MATIC pool and receive about 10 cent a day in BXT tokens now but it used to reward me close to a dollar, been providing liquidity for it for months and never experience much of a change. Ended up collecting maybe $50-100 worth of BXT tokens that I held/staked or sold 😅
Rewards have dried up for BXT pools now but it was very lucrative at the start for barely any trades into that pool!
