The COMedy Rumble is Over! A Post Rumble Discussion
Greetings!
As of the moment this post is shared, the COMedy Rumble is officially over. Everyone is welcome to keep posting in the COMmunity, but none of those posts will count as an entry for the Rumble.
A Thank You
We would like to thank you all for the large turnout we had throughout this month. The numbers were truly staggering as we found ourselves among the top communities under OCD's incubation in terms of interactions, outperforming communities that are 10 times the number of members. So thank you for that.
The COMedy Rumble was an experimental idea of how contests can be different rather than the usual format of best, second-best, third-best, and so on. What I (@amirtheawesome1) had intended to do with this contest is to reward different aspects of our COMunity rather than just one excellent post every now and then.
We feel that people who interact with others are the life of any community, also consistent and hard-working people also deserve to be rewarded the old format just didn't seem to accomplish that and there was no blueprint to follow when it comes to creating something different.
We are aware that some people may have issues with the format or have different takeaways from this format and that is what the second half of this post is about.
As with anything new, you start realizing things that are wrong only with time as things seem really good in theory or after they start. The COMedy Rumble was not an exception to that rule. We are aware that some of the rules and rewards were confusing to some people and we deeply apologize for that. Again, there wasn't a blueprint for what we are doing.
In the comment section below we'd like your honest opinion of the Rumble, its format, what you liked, what you hated, what confused you, and what excited you, we are even open to criticisms of our performance as mods/judges. You could also suggest different categories we could do in the future or things we could do until then.
When I (@amirtheawesome1) started this community I did so with the intention of being extremely open with the community members as any community is useless without its members. So, please, don't hold back and share your honest opinions regarding what we can improve when it comes to future versions of the Rumble as well as our general performance.

Until then, consider this post a thank you letter to all participants and an open form to share your opinion.

I loved every minute of this rumble. I wasn't able to participate as much as I would have liked, but everyone was so funny I didn't feel like I really needed to 😁
Any time rewards are involved, some people will get upset, or confused. Fuck 'em. It's not worth losing sleep over.
Quality posts were through the roof, exceptional authors were rewarded. That's a win on all the fronts that matter.
Having said all that, I'll be happy to see things getting back to normal. I've been losing too much sleep trying to read all the laughs!

I don't think I have any complaint about the contest, well except the part that it ran for a month... I saw a lot of giving hints that they've ran out of ideas on a funny post to write, I also had that difficulty.
So maybe a look into that would be cool but if not, it's still cool 😁 I believe it gets easier by every trial.
Can't wait to see the results, everyone is a winner... They made me laugh 😅 I had fun with this Rumble and I hope the fun continues even without the Rumble.

I understand people's problems with the length but I believe that's part of the fun as authors needed to find the perfect spot between posting enough for the month-long rewards and not overposting to reach a point of costing themselves. I feel that added to the set of skills for different categories.
The fun should and will continue as we still @OCD's support and a weekly showcase to celebrate great posts.

And I thought the results had been announced. Sadly, I couldn't finish up with the rumble cos of my health situation but it was fun while it lasted.
At first the rewards weren't clear to me until the first week's announcement then I understood the reward system. The comedy rumble encouraged creativity and engagement and also brought popularity to this community which was really great
My only concern is I thought a month was too much for the first time because I'm wondering now if the second time would have to run for two months or a month again.
But I enjoyed the competition and it was quite healthy
It's always going to be a month. It's the other rewards that make it a month long. But, we will look into shortening it maybe.

I couldn't participate but I'm glad that it was a success. You are doing a great job too.🙂
I said it several times before the contest ended, I loved every part of it. The price format gave more people a chance at it rather than the 1st 2nd and 3rd thing which was awesome.
It helped bring people together, I engaged with people I knew I wouldn't have met on a normal day if not for this contest. The reading funny post was just an added bonus.
There were times where I struggled to write something new, I know some of us had this problem too.
In general, it was an awesome idea from the start, if there's any chance there's going to be a 2.0, count me in. Thank you for an awesome rumble and good luck to the winners on Thursday.

Ooops!!! I think I should say I had fun and laughed well last month..🤣 The contestants were wonderful. I never knew we had such amazing comedians in the house until this rumble was initiated.
I like the way votes were distributed. Many who thought they can't make people laugh were encouraged. The comment from people was superb.
I've made more friends in the last one month. Sugar and honey is sweet. The mixure of both is not as sweet as the fun we had throughout the contest.
One more thing again. The admin has been so nice and kind towards all members of the community. He's always having our backs even without us knowing. I benefited from his benevolence.
I can't wait to witness another round of the rumble but before then, we keep writing. I wish everyone good luck come thursday.

Many congratulations to all the participants, I could not participate because of internet problems, but I could read some entries, which were great and made me laugh a lot, that is really extraordinary 🤣 😁😆. Hello comrades, this was too good for these spaces with this contest, some surely got lost, others were very clear on what had to be done. They published many experiences seemed like a humor machine, I could enjoy many publications, I was impressed with the speed to publish, anecdotes about sex, drugs, love and heartbreak ha,ha,ha,ha, illusions, there came a time when I said: there is nothing better than being crazy and loose. Thanks to all of you for your support for this community, dedicating the most valuable thing we have...our time.

July ended up being more than I could handle, but I was glad to add one story and a few laughs, and CONGRATULATIONS to @comedyopenmic on pulling off this great contest!
It was fun and I don't think I had any form of difficulties except the aspect of not having ideas on what to write next.
There was excitement in the contest and we were all ready to challenge one another trying hard to make post Interesting.
Engagement matters most in a platform like this and so this can bring the Community to a higher place.
