Splinterlands share my Battle | Dax Paragon - A magical journey

Tomorrow the first Season with the new Soulbound Reward cards comes to a end. Among the cards are some that have already made an impact on the game. I also like the concept that these can only be "earned".
Sure it will probably still be mostly done by bots, but I notice with myself that I feel more like doing some matches every now and then.

The focus card for this week, Dax Paragon, is rarely played by me. In general, my Life Splinter is not developed enough. The cards are often not silver max. Maybe I should close some gaps here.

Dax is an Epic card from the Chaos Legion set. At 2 mana, it is one of the cheaper cards and can often be played in low mana battles.
3 hit points, 1 damage and 2 attack speed are its starting kit. On level 2 the ability Amplify is added, on level 5 Affliction.
The reason why I rarely play him is probably because I only own him at level 1. I should bring him to level 2 on occasion to at least take the Amplify with me.

Rules

image.png

Close-Range & Enrage, 19 mana to play only Life and Fire. I like these fights with little mana and limited splinter selection.
Here it was quickly clear to me what I want to play: Life, but no ranged team!
I wanted to try to counter a ranged team and at the same time not be too vulnerable to a meele team...with Fire you never know....

Lineup

Summoner

Ilthain is a Summoner that is good to use in Life Splinter. It is not surprising that it is the most expensive Rift Watchers Summoner. I have successfully countered Yodin with Ilthain, the one point speed alone is very good. Return Fire counters all ranged attacks.

E

Tank

Blinding Reflector was underestimated by me for a long time and unfortunately I don't have the card on level 5 yet. Another gap I have to close. With 3 mana you get a lot and with Ilthain as well as with Grandmaster Rathe the Reeflector is a good tank for low mana matches.

Position 2

Time Mage at position 2, with slow a good card against Meele and Ranged. In this case it should slow down potential Sneak or Opportunity attackers. With the +1 speed of the Summoner it already makes a difference of 2 attack speed, that can be enough to provoke misses.

Position 3

Here comes now Dax on position 3. As mentioned only level 1 and therefore rather to fill the gap of 2 mana in my team.
Reflector level 5 and Dax level 2 would have made my team much stronger in this match!

Position 4

The healer in Life Splinter par excellence, at least in Modern format. The Crystalsmith has solid stats and should keep my tank alive for a long time.

Position 5

The Harpy on the last position serves as a sneak blocker with Flying and the extra point in Speed, of course the one or other coup de grâce by Opportunity would be nice too!

The Battle

image.png

Sloan, of course, with Ranged Attack. The perfect opponent for my team. The speed difference is not as big as expected, but it is there. With Enrage this is even more important. One problem could be the Conjurer's Reflect...

image.png

The Fiend was finished off by the Harpy and the Conjurer also only survived one turn. Return Fire works well and the enemy ranged fighters have a hard day!

image.png

At this point, a short cut to clarify something: My tank is being taken out by the enemy mage right now. If the Reflector was level 5 and Dax was level 2, the Time Mage would have just shot herself into nirvana. So she just remains standing....

image.png

Since the opponent's timemage is still standing, she was able to eliminate mine. Now the Runeslinger (also a good card!) beats my Dax Paragon but also destroys itself. That leaves my Healer and the Harpy.

image.png

In the end, the Crystalsmith fixes it for my team and it's the expected win. GG!

Summary

From this fight there are some points that are important:

  1. Children, do not get into the car with strangers!
  2. level your cards!
  3. Level your cards!
  4. level the damn cards, it makes a big difference!

Joking aside, it was a win, but it could have been much clearer. i still say: Ilthain is a good Summoner and Sloan is basically useless. the 1 bonus damage point is simply not enough.

Now I will immediately level my Reflector and Dax :)

See you soon!

Gute Entscheidung die beiden zu maxen. Wenn du dabei bist gönn der Harpy doch auch gleich ein L4. Sie wird es Dir danken. !PIZZA

Hey there, I noticed you used Threads back in August '22 when it was still a rudimentary interface with many bugs.

Perhaps you want to give it another try now that there's a new interface now and Threads have improved a lot: https://alpha.leofinance.io

It is still in alpha stage and in two weeks it'll move to the next stage, but it already looks amazing and the user experience is great.

Hey, thanks for your comment. The whole thing is very confusing for me and I don't have the resources to learn a new platform at the moment... sorry.
