My-Actifit-Report-Card-August-9-2022-by-johnnovak-Actifit.png

Today was another busy day at my medical office.

I did my lunch time laps but today I added one more lap.

I had started off doing five laps and that was pretty much determined by my hip pain. By the time I completed five laps my hip would be hurting pretty intensely.

Slowly adding additional laps has so far worked out okay. I plan to add laps slowly as I can tolerate it. I am currently up to eight laps.

Overall, another good activity day.

You should have a pedometer on to track your mileage John.Just to show how far you walk per lap.Only a suggestion.

The human body is awesome! If you start asking more of it, it will adjust to the new intensity levels, and eventually, you will have enough stamina to do a lot more of what you thought you could do.

Beware the hip tho.

You are absolutely right, @elyelma.
I let pain be my guide when it comes to my hip.
I try and push it a little, and that seems to be working favorably.
Thanks for your support.

Does the walking help your hips loosen up? I know when I am bothered by sciatica it helps to move around. Have to listen to the pain though. It's a good messenger.

The prolonged walking, as I do on the laps, seems to actually make it feel tighter.
Most of my walking during the day is short walks from my office to the patient room.
The pain varies. I know that I need to move more, so I am trying to increase as I can.

Yeah, I need to move more too. We have two flights of steps in the house from the basement to the upstairs suite where Roy and I sleep and work. I go up and down as much as possible but I don't want to tweak my knees either so I have to be reasonable. I don't really do much stretching either. Sounds like what you're doing could work well for you. 😀

It seems to be working, Lisa.
I understand the knee thing. I have a bad right knee, and it makes stairs very difficult.
But, every bit helps.
Thanks for commenting, Lisa

You're welcome, John. The turmeric is helping my knees with using the stairs. The steps in the house here are spaced differently from the ones we had in the apartment. Never realized it could make a difference. Good times! 😄 Enjoy your day and the week.
