I have been playing Risingstar for 14 months and why my ranking is so bad

In March 2021, I decided to start to play Risingstar. At that time, I was lucky to profit from the experienced teachings of @ph1102, aka @cryptofiloz. Thanks to him, I managed not to do the traditional errors that noobs make when starting to play Risingstar. Well in spite of all of this I made some mistakes.

Persistence is one of my virtues

Once I stick to an idea, I generally don't give up too easily. That is why, more than 1 year later, I'm still playing Risingstar. The funny thing about the game is that when I was two weeks into the game, my top ranking in the game was 167th. Today, after playing the game for straight 14 months, my Rank is 221st! I tried to understand why I was so bad in terms of ranking...

My Risingstar strategy

The best move that I made in the game was to buy the Starbits Millionaires Card. I had to own 1 million starbits and be on level 50 to actually play the card. Today I make sure that I can play this Starbits Millionaires Mission once every day. This generates a daily 10'000 starbits income. As soon as I have 110'000 Starbits together, I purchase 12 packs and I swap 10'000 starbits for Hive as a way of taking profits. With all my games, I like to make sure that I take some profits on the road.

This way of doing allowed me to collect a total of 957 cards and my income from Missions has increased quite sensibly. Today, I have reached level 76 and I'm building my Band. Once I will have 4 members in this band, I will be able to do mission on the County Tour.

Since I have managed to get to level 75, I can play now the band audition mission to unlock the slots of my band. Once I have 4 Band members, I will be able to play the County Tour Missions

So why does my ranking suck?

The biggest mistake I'm doing in terms of ranking is not to take part in all the seasonal actions that give additional unique cards. Whatever happens in the game, I tend to take the same missions all the time and try to optimize my earnings. In a way, the ranking isn't my first priority.

Another thing that works against me is that I don't take part in too many missions every day. I simply don't have time. So after the Millionaires Mission, I often make some small Missions and then some longer ones along the day but it's by far not optimized.

Impossible to climb in the ranking

When I look at what @cryptofiloz is doing in the game, I see that his income is developping faster than mine and that with this income he can buy more packs. Thanks to the cards from these packs, he earns even more from Missions. Whatever I do, he will be faster. I would need to buy hundreds of packs to draw even with him and even then, I can't play the same Missions he does. In this perspective, it's pretty difficult to actually improve your ranking in respect to people who started to play earlier and continue to play the game regularly.

Another important factor for my poor Ranking is the fact that in the meantime plenty of new people have joined the game. So competition is fierce :-)

The gap is widening and my ambition is not to play the ranking but to get the best return from the game. The money in Risingstar in my opinion, comes mainly from the Missions and it can be scaled by having a big quantity of cards. That's why I reinvest 90% of what I make back into the game to buy packs. The price of Starbits has been amazingly stable in the recent past and I believe that Jux is doing an amazing job at keeping tokenomics of the game sound.
